What we can achieve with your Radiothon support

For last year’s Radiothon you showed us that, with your support, ​3MDR Powers Community!!!!

At long last, with the generous support from the station’s subscribers and donors, along with funding support from the Community Broadcasting Foundation and Community Bank Upwey, 3MDR’s generator project is complete and operational.

Miss Megan (left) and Miss Jane (right) from 3MDR’s Friendly Femmes Show are super excited to know that the gas-powered generator installed at Forest Park Homestead will keep 3MDR on the airwaves whenever the mains power goes out for any length of time.  In addition to keeping the station on air, the whole homestead will have power and can be accessed by the local community if the power is out for an extended period of time in the neighbourhood.

The generator at our transmitter site in Kallista had to be craned into place, which was all very exciting!!  This beauty will keep us on air for over twelve hours, if [when] we happen to lose power up the hill.

Thanks to the David Miller and Tim Lines for their assistance in delivering this much needed project.
