Welcome Nat Grant – our new Station Manager!!

3MDR is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Nat Grant to the position of Station Manager. Following a rigorous recruitment process, the 3MDR Committee of Management determined Nat is the ideal person to lead the station into the future. 3MDR President Cath Dear said “We are incredibly excited to be welcoming Nat to our wonderful community radio station. Bringing skills and experience across radio, community organisations, music production and composition, and the not-for-profit arts sector; we are confident Nat will provide the leadership required to continue the important work of 3MDR in our community. Following the departure of Phil Ruck after ten incredible years, the 3MDR Committee of Management is excited for the next chapter in the story of the station”.

Dr. Nat Grant is a creative producer and sound artist with a background in live performance, recording and broadcast, digital arts, and community arts. With experience broadcasting for 3CR Community Radio and podcasting for the Victorian Seniors Festival, Nat is interested in the power of sound and music as storytelling tools, and is invested in creating and maintaining community around sound making. In 2022 Nat’s sonic portraiture podcast ‘Prima Donna’ received an oral history award from the Public Record Office Victoria in partnership with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria. This project seeks to preserve the voices and stories of older female artists from all disciplines and to provide a platform for their stories.

On their appointment as Station Manager, Nat said “I’m so excited to be joining the 3MDR family! Community radio well and truly has my heart, and I can’t wait to meet all the incredible community members and volunteers who keep this wonderful station ticking”.

Nat will commence with 3MDR on Wednesday January 18th, 2023.
