Programming Update

Hello 3MDR Community!!

We’ve got a few more programming updates for you!!

Retirements
Independent Country: After 22 years on air, Wal Adams has decided to hang up his headphones.  A few of Wal’s highlights from his time on air include:

• Broadcasting with Smiley, Michael Day, Denver, Margaret, Sandra & Andy Sneddon.
• Doing a 14 hour show one night… From 7.30pm Friday to 9.30am Saturday!!
• And he loved showcasing new Australian Country artists on his show each week.

Saturday Morning Country: Unfortunately it seems Smiley will not be returning to 3MDR at this time.  We hope to get back in touch with him and we’ll update you when we find out more.

Slingsby’s Miscellany: Slingsby’s final show will be this Tuesday 20th June at 9am.  Slingsby started his show as a lockdown project and now he’s too busy being out and about to fit us in.

New Shows
The Big Note: Cameron Stephen has started his new show, all about the origins of music and challenging the notion of what is music, on Wednesdays at 10am.

Brassed Off: Mark Gardner is kicking off his new show tonight, Friday 19th June at 6pm!!  Showcasing all brass music, with a large dose of new Aussie and local tunes.

Swell Dames: Dale Blair is back and is bringing his buddy Ross Schnioffsky along too.  They will be celebrating female singers of the 30s 40s 50s and a bit either side, at 12pm on Fridays from the 23rd June.
