JB Signs Off

As we see in the new year we have some sad news to share with the extended 3MDR family.

John Beauchamp aka JB, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday 5th January.

JB was a mighty fine friend and contributor to community radio 3MDR and 3BBR with his weekly 3 hour  Korniest Show, filled with fabulous music and old school humour being a favourite of the listeners.

JB’s contributions at both radio stations extended well beyond his weekly program presentation.   JB was involved in most aspects of the operations over his near 30 year involvement at 3MDR.   JB was always willing to lend a hand, offering support and guidance to his fellow volunteer broadcasters, volunteers and staff.   Thank you JB.

The Big C took hold over the last year or so but JB remained positive to the end, losing none of his quick wit that we’ll remember him for.

On behalf of the 3MDR extended family I offer condolences to JB’s partner Alison and son Tom.
