JB hangs up the microphone on The Korniest Show

After 30 years of broadcasting on community radio 3MDR, John Beauchamp, aka “JB”, is hanging up the microphone on his ‘Korniest Show’.

Due to an illness, which is getting the better of him, JB will present his final episode of ‘JB’s Korniest Show’ on Monday 26th September from 10am to 1pm.

JB is a much loved, admired and valued member of the 3MDR family and we’re sad to see his wonderful, comical, cheeky and irreverent ‘Korniest Show’, come to a close after three decades on the 97.1fm airwaves…. That’s over 1560 episodes, or approximately 4680 hours of on air content!!

Presenting a weekly radio program requires a lot of time and energy and ‘JB’s Korniest Show’ is no exception…
JB has been piecing together segments like “Both Sides Of The Record”, “Ka-ching – This Week’s Expensive Record”, “Time Travel to the 1960’s (and other eras)”, Anniversaries & Deathaversaries, Old School Comedy Sketches and all manner of assorted odds and sods, lovingly broadcast for your listening pleasure each week.

There’s no other show quite like ‘JB’s Korniest Show’ on 3MDR. It really does take you back in time every Monday morning, to decades left behind, and encourages us to have a laugh, sing along to hit tunes and remember some fabulous musicians, now passed. It will leave a big hole in our programming grid, so we’ll probably play a few repeats to get our fill over the coming weeks.
